What an exciting time in America Politics. For the first time ever we have an African-American as the Presidential nominee. Words cannot explain how happy I am. We still have a long way to go, but last night was definitely a start. Senator Barack Obama simply put is a rock star. The public loves him. Thousands upon thousands come to his speeches and they way that he and his campaign used technology, i.e. the Internet to drive awareness and fund raising was extraordinarily and unique. A must now for anybody entering the political arena.
With all this being said who should he pick for his VP? My friend told me that he heard somebody say that if Obama pick Hillary, "he's going to have to hire a food taster." Ha! She wants that presidential spot and even though their views are the same in some respect, except for the difference in health care, I think having her next to him along with Bill on the side will be a mistake.
Now I was a big Hillary fan, always have been and throughout this grueling primary really have not said anything to negative about her until this past month when it was obvious she should drop out. I really do not think that Obama should pick her. With Obama, Hillary and Bill whispering in her head there would be too much conflict in the White House and in a sense would undermine the Obama administration.
I see Hillary as another Condi Rice. I think she would make a great Sec. of State, and even appoint Bill to a position somewhere. He's good to help out a little bit and bang some women on the side, lol!
Obama definitely needs a VP that has a strong foreign policy background such as Sen Evan Bayh. This would at least shut old man McCain up when he tears into Obama's lack of homeland security knowledge and general naivety of the world(a scare tactic that Grand Ole Party loves to play at all times).
While we're on the subject of parties, I just changed mine. Back in 2003 I was a registered Independent. I did not want to be apart of any party because I wanted to vote for the best candidate not party lines. Then Bush and the GOP pissed me off so I went to the Dems in '04. The other day I went back to being an Independent because of the embarrassment the Democratic party showed the world and the American public this past weekend. How they have aired their dirty laundry onto the public and allowed Michigan and Florida to be complete dumbasses in their thinking is beyond me. It only hurt the party and further helped the GOP. Now I am in no way shape or form leaning towards a Republican or conservatism, or even moderate (I'm liberal all the way), but the division that has been placed in the Democratic party is bad and I want no part of it. I honestly believe that if the two candidates were not a black man and a white woman, we would not be where we are today. People would not let a black man win that easy (for President?? come on), and people would not let a woman win that easily without putting up a fight. If it's two white dudes, this is over in the early spring.
I also have a problem with the middle aged white women declaring that they would either vote McCain or stay home should their girl not get the nomination. Come on! Get over yourself already. Yes it's amazing a women made it as far as Hillary did and yes it says so much about our country somewhat progressing in gender issues, but are 40-65 year old white women that racist to not vote for a black man, or that bitter about a woman coming so close to the top spot but missing it by a hair? I say its a little bit of both. I do however feel that a lot of people are pissed right now in the Democratic party. It's only June, when the dust settles in November, I truly believe that 3 quarters of these white women who hate on Obama, have stopped watching Oprah who endorsed Obama, and have cried foul about the idiots running the Democratic party in Florida and Michigan, will come around and vote for Mr. Obama over the old man. YES WE CAN!
One more thought, Obama's wife is sexy and Bob Johnson needs to shut up! What do you think? Until next time kids!
